Obama Building Illegal National Military Force

When he first campaigned for the Presidency, Barack H. Obama gave made a statement which went largely ignored, at least by the national media, indicating his desire to build a civilian army, something  the Constitution forbids. He said:

We cannot continue to rely only on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives that we’ve set. We’ve got to have a civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded.

Since a national police force or military is not permitted by the United States Constitution it is likely any attempt or request for creating such a force was shot down by Congress. But this has not stopped Obama, who shows little regard for constitutional restrictions on presidential power. Since he cannot create a civilian army under his control Obama has sought other ways to build a civilian military force.

He has been attempting to sway public opinion of the need for a “national police force”. He seeks to erode public trust  in State and local law enforcement organizations by promoting the idea that they are racist in nature and incapable of upholding the law. To do this his administration and their allies have made inflammatory statements when police have had to use deadly force in the line of duty. And they have paid professional protesters and agitators to converge in towns where such shootings have occurred and riot. This effort to manipulate public opinion has affected many young people, but has not swayed anything like a majority of the public.

But he has also been quietly arming multiple federal agencies with military weapons and ammunition. Agencies like the Department of Education, the IRS, the EPA, and the Department of Agriculture have now been issued AR-15 style rifles and ammunition as well as other military equipment. According to an article in the Illinois Review

There are now more non-military government employees who carry guns than there are U.S. Marines, according to a new report….

The “Militarization of America” report found civilian agencies spent $1.48 billion on guns, ammunition, and military-style equipment between 2006 and 2014.

“Regulatory enforcement within administrative agencies now carries the might of military-style equipment and weapons,” Open the Books said. …

Open the Books found there are now over 200,000 non-military federal officers with arrest and firearm authority, surpassing the 182,100 personnel who are actively serving in the U.S. Marines Corps.

Other administration agencies that have purchased guns and ammo include the Small Business Administration, theNational Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, the Department of Education, and the National Institute of Standards and Technology. The report also highlighted that the Department of Health and Human Services has “special agents” with “sophisticated military-style weapons.”

All told, sixty-seven non-military federal agencies spent $1.48 billion on guns, ammunition, and military-style equipment.

The federal government has no legal authority to field a civilian armed force, but that is precisely what Obama has created. It is the fault of the American citizens who vote for politicians who allow the federal government to violate the restrictions the States placed upon it when they made the contract with each other we call the Constitution of the United States.

Since the school system no longer teaches students the truth about our form of government, we the people must take it upon ourselves to study and learn what the Constitution says, and what the founders told us it means. Otherwise we can expect people like Obama to continue to revoke our civil rights and to ignore the rule of law.
